Welcome to Spongetta's Garden
We grow your grandmother's garden flowers.
Betsy is a life long gardener with a degree in art, including a concentration in photography, from Hartwick College and a few random horticulture culture courses in her past. She is a plant nerd with a love of heirloom varieties. Along with the hundred varieties they grow, each week she forages through neighbors' hedgerows and yards for interesting fillers to make the bouquets extra special.

Rob is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering and Diesel Technology at SUNY Cobleskill . Rob and his friend, Ben, have fabricated many of the specialized tools we use including the bouquet stand.
The flower varieties are chosen for vase life, stem length, beauty and the ability to grow well in upstate New York. Each week the bouquets change based on what is in bloom. You can find us Saturdays at the Utica Train Station. Along with bouquets at market, we offer bulk flowers, by the bunch or bucket, for events. Our growing season is June 1st - October Frost. We try to challenge ourselves every season with new varieties.
