Grow a Cut Flower Garden at Home

Updated: Mar 7, 2023

Dreaming of vases of flowers all over your house summer? Or maybe you would like to deliver a jar of blooms to friends? Planning on throwing a party and want some thing extra to make it special? Come be inspired at Art in Bloom at Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute in Utica this spring.

Join Betsy for an hour long seminar to discuss the best varieties and how to grow them in our region. Included are the understanding the rules of a good cut flower, soils and siting, lifecycles of plants, sun and shade, and how plants grow. The best part is a small part intensively planted can yield flower bunches all summer long.

Betsy Busche is a writer and educator on growing cut flowers. She runs Spongetta’s Garden in West Winfield, NY. She is discussing design in the March edition of CanvasRebel.

She also offers a consultation at your home to help you grow your best garden ever.
